Part-Time Estate & Vineyard Worker (2 Days/Week, More in Peak Season)

 

Location: Coes Farm, Nr Rotherfield, East Sussex

Hours: Part-time (2 days per week, with additional days during busy vineyard periods)

Start: January 19th 2026

Salary: Competitive, based on experience

 

About Us

Coes Farm is a small, family-run farm and organic vineyard making natural wine in East Sussex. Alongside our young vineyard, we manage a diverse estate with holiday cottages, gardens, woodland and open space. We鈥檙e looking for a reliable, hands-on person to join our small team and help keep the estate looking its best year-round.

 

The Role

You鈥檒l be working 2 days a week during quieter periods, with the option and expectation of additional days during the vineyard鈥檚 busy seasons (typically Feb鈥揓uly and Sept鈥揙ct).

 

Typical duties include:

 

Vineyard Work (training provided)

- Winter pruning

- Bud rubbing

- Shoot positioning

- Leaf stripping

- Harvest support

- General vine care throughout the season

 

Estate & Grounds Maintenance

- Maintaining and improving vegetable garden.

- Bramble clearing and general land management

- Log splitting and firewood preparation

- Basic upkeep of paths, fences, and outdoor spaces

- General 鈥渉andyperson鈥 tasks across the estate

 

What We鈥檙e Looking For

- A self-starter who is organised, practical and takes pride in their work

- Reliable, friendly and able to work independently

- Experience in estate, garden, or grounds maintenance

- Someone physically fit and happy working outdoors in all weathers

- Willingness to learn vineyard skills (full training provided)
